Sophomores Leading on Promoting Equality (VP/PR Director 2025-2026)

This zine was designed as a recruitment piece for SLOPE, inspired by early-2000s Nickelodeon and Y2K-era magazines. I wanted the piece to feel playful, bold, and approachable while standing out from traditional student organization recruitment materials. Using bright colors, layered textures, expressive typography, and collage-style layouts, I aimed to capture the energy of early 2000s magazines while still keeping the content readable.

Instead of creating a standard flyer, I chose a zine format intentionally. Recruitment is about getting people to engage, and I wanted to create something students would spend time flipping through rather than quickly glancing at and throwing away. The format also allowed me to include more personality and information about the organization in a way that still felt visually engaging. A major focus of the project was accessibility for SLOPE’s audience. Many students interested in the organization are quieter or less likely to attend large informational meetings immediately, so the zine was designed to give them a low-pressure way to learn about the organization, explore our culture, and connect through our social media platforms before attending an event.
